TODAY IN CLASS
Mostly Foster. . . but finally Metamporphosis! Well, OK, barely--somewhere between two and ten minutes. But I'm excited for tomorrow--I think you all are primed for a really good discussion.
No writing prep for Friday, but think in two general directions:
1) Consider Gregor's "progress" through Part I. Obviously the first sentence acknowledged that the "transformation" had already occurred, but look more closely at his physical, mental, and emotional capacities through the course of the first section. What changes do you see?
2) Obviously this family has "issues" beyond the son who . . . . [how exactly do we even want to finish this sentence?]. Think about the Gregor's parents and his sister, as individuals and as part of a family dynamic. How did/does Gregor fit into the picture? How relevant is the rest of the family to Gregor's current situation?
