TODAY IN CLASS
I stamped, then collected later on, the 2 thesis statements for the "dawn" passage. We completely finished what we needed to do in 1st period, but have just a bit or wrapping up in 2nd/3rd. During class tomorrow we will work together on another passage, and then spring into some good thoughts on some major mid-section ideas for the novel.
HOMEWORK TOMORROW NIGHT perhaps governs your sense of what to do tonight. So please know that as homework tomorrow night there will be an out-of-class timed write. Yes. Time yourself. Type it if you can. I'm actually hoping that everyone's busy enough that no one would WANT to spend more than 35-40 minutes on it. It will be the culmination of the passage analysis work of Monday through Thursday.
SO HOMEWORK TONIGHT
Be reading as much of Tess as you can. You should be finished by Friday. Here is a hand-out that I will actually hand out tomorrow (so you don't really need to print it right now) that keeps some thoughts rolling your way.
