Crime and Punishment Timed Write Today!

Main Event of the Day:  As shown above.  The good news was that practically everyone was in class  For the handful who were not, the make-up times will be either Monday or Tuesday after school.

For tomorrow--the general work is to keep on reading Tess.  But the in-class work tomorrow will be mostly poetry.  Bring the big book.  Right now I won't attempt to preview tomorrow's work, which will vary since 1st and 2nd have been on a different track than 3rd this week.

But starting tomorrow, given the slew of absences expected over the next few days (and really, on into AP testing) I'll be very specific with the blog, and people absent for whatever reason are absolutely, positively obligated to read it and heed whatever instructions it contains.  No excuses, please.

What do you think of Alec?  Is he a stage villain?  How about Angel?  Is he truly angelic?  How blameworthy is Tess?  In the original incident? In stuff that happens later on?  (Sorry about the "stuff"--people are reading at different paces.)  How does Hardy use setting in this novel?
