Your Post. For Real.

Again, sorry about the Friday snafu.  Kudos to those who simply scrolled down and found the correct entry for AP.  (If you were absent today, yes, the problem was that after doing the authentic AP blog entry, I managed to post the British and Western Friday blog on the AP site.  But no, I don't have any of you 4th or 6th--that should have been the clue!)  If you missed class on Friday, be sure to read it for make-up info, etc.

TODAY IN CLASS
Some follow-up work on the scene analysis in which you expand four specific areas as much as possible.  I like the thoroughness that most of you came up with today.  Don't worry; I won't have you write the much longer paper in which you would utilize ALL the material you've identified to write a more thorough scene analysis.  But remember the process, and as we proceed with both prose and poetry over the next 7 weeks,, try to be as careful as you can to pick up all the language cues that reinforce theme, tone, character, etc.

FOR TOMORROW
Either continue studying Hamlet in preparation for your in-class essay, or spend some reading time on Crime and Punishment.  The choice depends on how well you feel you know the play; of course I am not providing the essay topic for you in advance!!

Be prepared with your own paper and two BLUE or BLACK ink pens.  It is time to start being prepared for the exam.  Pick pens that are easy to write with and are dark enough to read.  (In other words, no pale blue, please.)
