We're Almost to Break!!

But a few folks still need to make up either the Hamlet objective test from last Friday or Tuesday's in-class essay. You are now down to just one more opportunity:  Thursday afternoon.

TODAY IN CLASS
There were several Crime and Punishment-related hand-outs. One was a map with some general setting info as well as a list of character names, variants, and derivations.  We don't have our new scanner yet, so I can't link to that.  There was a reading schedule linked here (self-explanatory):

And there was a series of "discussion questions" for Parts I and II.  These are distinct from "study guide questions" because they require more thought on your part, but you are NOT required to do them all and submit them.  I think the content is important, however, and I outline at the top the various uses which I might make of this series of questions.

Today we presses on with just a few more observations about the opening paragraphs and dealt with question one.

FOR TOMORROW
Be reading tonight.  Definitely important, because the chunk between now and Friday is actually one of the longest for the time allowed.  If you are already out the door, well, you definitely have your reading cut out for you, because you essentially lost a couple of actual school days.  But you'll be fine so long as you read and utilize the questions wisely.

Tomorrow we will do something not C& P related, because I need to have everyone get to a certain point before we discuss too much.

Friday will be all C & P.
