  • A few minutes to read the glossary definitions of irony and related terms
  • A quick-write:  irony in Oedipus the King (10 minutes)
  • Assigned new reading--background info on Greek theater, staging, the civic value, Aristotle's view of tragedy, the bio of Sophocles, and the origins of the Oedipus story.  8th ed.--pp. 1375-1383; 9th ed.--pp. 1357-1365; 10th ed.--pp. 1277-? where the play starts.
  • Varied minutes (two to twelve!) on the Donne "If poisonous minerals . . ." sonnet
FOR TOMORROW
Do the reading listed above.  Bring your book.  Bring your poem.  It's Wednesday--we'll do what we can.

If your Frankenstein sources paper is late, get it in ASAP.  I've simply extended Tuesday folder.
