OK, I'll do the real post tomorrow. But I have to get these links in. For the record, I have NEVER (until the Monday British lit class I mentioned today) used cats and dogs as a class example. And I might have mentioned that the Lawrence Journal-World had preference for cats or dogs as its informal reader poll today. I've just read the comments, and they pretty much use the criteria on the board--though predictably--people have different opinions for the same "facts." If you have no life, here's the link:
scroll down to see it (You can vote, or go to See Results to read the comments.)
So I just got home and picked up this morning's Seattle Times before we head out for dinner on my daughter's last night before going back to college. And there it was, another article about which animal makes a better pet, cats or dogs.
And look at all the quotes--still a version of what was on the board in class today.
So apparently I stumbled into a more timely national debate than I ever imagined. . . (And of course--as I DID expect--you can go to the sports pages of the Dallas Morning News and a variety of other places for the might-have-beens had Colt McCoy been in the game. But I'm going out to dinner.)
