Consider a night off from the paper for sure--I haven't finished the prospectus-reading yet, but I'd like many of you to hold off a bit before you proceed.

So consider Frankenstein:
  • Be able to assert briefly the nature/purpose of each of Walton's four letters.
  • What are the main qualities of Walton that you think we should note carefully?
  • What else seems important about the intro letters?
As VF's story begins:
  • Well, obviously keep track of the facts. . . places, life, family, education, reading, what sparked his "destiny," early university experience, etc.
  • "SO WHAT?"--what thematic directions do you think are being set up here?
  • (there was something else I wanted to add . . . I might do so later!)
